Cover Art

Upload your show's cover art directly to preroll.io. This image is:

  • Displayed throughout the UI wherever the show appears
  • Used as the default thumbnail for episodes (unless overridden)
  • Stored on Cloudflare R2 for fast global delivery
  • Recommended size: 3000x3000px (standard podcast cover art dimensions)

Pipeline Stages

Every show has a customizable production pipeline. The default stages are:

Planning → Recording → Editing → Review → Approved → Published

Customizing Stages

You can add, remove, rename, and reorder stages to match your production workflow:

  1. Open the show's Settings tab
  2. Navigate to Pipeline Stages
  3. Drag stages to reorder, click to rename, or use the + button to add

Examples of custom pipelines:

For a video podcast:

Script → Recording → Rough Cut → Color Grade → Review → Approved → Published

For a minimal audio show:

Recording → Edit → Publish

Stage Rules

  • Every show must have at least one stage
  • Stage names must be unique within a show
  • Stages have a position (order) that determines the flow
  • Deleting a stage will prompt you to reassign any episodes currently in that stage

Status Overrides

Each stage can optionally map to a high-level episode status:

StatusMeaning
draftEpisode is being prepared
in_progressActive production work
in_reviewWaiting on client feedback
approvedClient has signed off
publishedEpisode is live

These overrides power the dashboard metrics and reporting.

Episode Templates

Each show can have a template that auto-populates new episodes. Templates define:

  • Default description text
  • Default show notes structure
  • Starting pipeline stage
  • Default tags

See Templates for full details.
